Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
