Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
