Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that returning someday is something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-season tenure which brought continental glory and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League in the previous campaign, but many fans who revere Klopp would welcome the idea that he might come back one day. In a wide-ranging interview, he explained to the podcast host: “I declared I won't manage another team in England. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to bring him back to management, Klopp admitted he isn't eager toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “No longing for management; I don’t miss standing in the rain for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or constant media duties a week.

“No nostalgia for the changing area in that context, however, dining out with the team enjoying conversation, I appreciate that. We won a lot of games meaning regularly a very good mood around the place. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended regarding Arne Slot, acknowledging his role due to the changes that won the league last term. Liverpool have lost a string of losses in every contest following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the idea that it might signal a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, superb talent. It’s a really good balanced team. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling about the death of Jota, a player he signed while in charge, and the effect for the team. The Portugal international lost his life in a road accident alongside his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute such an individual? It goes beyond the player himself, it's his character. I can’t imagine the dressing room missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A profound tragedy for all the boys too. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it to justify results though it's a fact. Being in that space which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is difficult. Unbearable.”
