Nearly 25,000 Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, generating powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Residents reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews activated to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the area, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

- Wyndham region - 179 emergency requests
During the peak on the previous day, in excess of 28,000 power users in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were expected to linger along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the state.
